my country is the world’s largest home building materials manufacturer. At present, my country’s building materials industry has carried out trade and cooperation with more than 130 countries and regions in the world. The export volume of major building materials such as building sanitary ceramics, glass fiber and products, building and technical glass, composite materials, building stone, concrete products, etc. has maintained an average annual growth of 10% to 20%. In recent years, the export trade of building materials has stabilized, and the amount has basically remained at US$30 billion to US$35 billion. In 2018, my country’s export trade volume of building materials reached US$34.3 billion.
Since the “Belt and Road” initiative, the building materials industry has made new and significant breakthroughs in the process of “going out”. Compared with the emerging manufacturing bases in Southeast Asia, my country’s building materials product quality and production technology are ahead of them for nearly ten years. At the same time, it also has obvious advantages in corporate systems, employee quality, product risk control, equipment and industrial chains. Many countries in Southeast Asia are in a period of development seeking new economic growth points, and are actively building a number of large-scale infrastructure projects, which require a large amount of building materials raw materials. In addition, with the improvement of people’s living standards, the construction industry such as civil housing construction has grown strongly, and the demand for building materials such as steel bars, cement, ceramics, and hardware has gradually increased, and even the phenomenon of supply exceeding demand has appeared. For example, Malaysia has transformed from relying on imports from developed countries such as the United States and Japan to now importing a large number of building materials from China. Currently, about 50% to 60% of hardware building materials are imported from China.
In addition, some companies have significantly accelerated the pace of directly acquiring companies and investing in factories abroad, involving cement, flat glass, fiberglass, wall materials, stone and other industries.
