(I) Introduction

The Hannover Exhibition Company has a long history and was founded in 1947. As one of the world’s leading trade fair organizers, the Hannover Exhibition Company has held many colorful events in Germany and around the world. In 2017, the company’s total revenue reached 357 million euros, making it one of the top five trade fair organizers in Germany.

The company owns many world-class exhibitions, such as the Hannover Industrial Fair (HANNOVER MESSE) in the field of industrial manufacturing, the CeMAT series of exhibitions in the field of logistics, the German International Education and Training Exhibition (didacta) in the field of education and training, the Hannover International Fire Safety Exhibition (INTERSCHUTZ) in the field of fire safety, and the Hannover International Laboratory Technology Exhibition (LABVOLUTION) in the field of laboratory technology.

The company also regularly hosts internationally renowned exhibitions hosted by third parties, including AGRITECHINICA, hosted by the German Agricultural Association (DIG), and EMO Hannover, hosted by the German Machine Tool Manufacturers Association (VDW).

Deutsche Messe currently has more than 1,200 employees and has established a network of 58 sales partners, with business in about 100 countries.

Deutsche Messe established its Chinese subsidiary in Shanghai in 1999. In January 2008, Deutsche Messe and Fiera Milano officially signed a cooperation agreement to establish a joint venture company, Hannover Milano Fairs (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., as an important platform for overseas market expansion strategy. Hannover Milano Fairs (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. organizes more than 20 exhibitions in China every year, and also invites Chinese companies to participate in and visit exhibitions held by the head office in Europe and around the world.

(II) Key Exhibitions

1. DOMOTEX Flooring Series

The Hannover International Flooring Exhibition is the world’s leading flooring exhibition, with exhibits including flooring, carpets, textiles and elastic flooring materials, as well as their application equipment and paving processes. The exhibition attracted about 1,400 exhibitors from 60 countries.

In addition to Hannover, the DOMOTEX series has series exhibitions in North America, Mexico and Turkey.

2. Hannover Industrial Fair (HANNOVER MESSE)

The Hannover Industrial Fair is the world’s top exhibition in the field of industrial technology, attracting more than 6,000 exhibitors and 200,000 visitors each year. Starting from 2020, the Hannover Industrial Fair will pay more attention to industrial transformation. The exhibition consists of seven major exhibition categories – innovative technology and future production, automation, power transmission, digital ecosystem, energy solutions, logistics themes (even-numbered year exhibitions), industrial parts and accessories, compressed air and vacuum technology (odd-numbered year exhibitions), which will lay the foundation for the future development of important fields such as industry, energy and logistics.

As the world’s largest comprehensive industrial fair, the Hannover Industrial Fair brings together technologies from various industrial fields, leading the innovation and development of the world’s industry, and becoming a veritable “barometer of world industrial development.” In its more than 70 years of development, the Hannover Industrial Fair has demonstrated its adaptability to the trend and has now developed into a flagship exhibition of global industrial trade and the most influential international industrial trade exhibition.
