Effectively using the Amazon platform to open a store is a way for all industries to pursue and gain profits, but in the process we must avoid violating Amazon’s relevant regulations to avoid the risk of sales suspension and product removal. Today, let’s take stock of the “red lines” that sellers must avoid when opening a store on Amazon.

1. Product Anti-Counterfeiting and Intellectual Property Policy

The products sold on Amazon must be genuine. It is strictly prohibited to sell counterfeit and shoddy goods, including illegally copied, imitated or manufactured goods. If Amazon sellers sell counterfeit and shoddy goods, the account will be suspended or terminated, and the inventory will be destroyed.

2. Product Review Policy

Do not attempt to influence or exaggerate buyers’ ratings, feedback and reviews, including manipulating features such as “helpful” and “not helpful”. It is prohibited to require buyers to provide or delete feedback or reviews by paying fees or offering rewards.

3. Product Variation Policy

It is prohibited to create duplicate ASINs and add child products that are not true variations of the parent product. If the product details page of the parent product is changed, it will cause it to not match the child product, which may cause the ASIN creation or sales rights to be suspended or permanently revoked.

4. Offensive product policy

Products that promote hatred, violence, racial, sexual, religious discrimination, etc. must not be promoted. For sensitive moments or documents, be cautious to prevent such violations.

5. Product safety policy

The safety of the product must be ensured during the product launch and after-sales stages, including submitting relevant compliance documents to ensure the safety of the product.

6. FBA dangerous goods policy

Dangerous goods refer to substances or materials that pose risks to health, safety, property or the environment because they contain flammable, sealed and pressurized, corrosive or any other harmful substances. In order to avoid any safety accidents when handling, storing or transporting such products, relevant information needs to be collected to ensure their safety.

It is not difficult to find from the above taboos that each rule and policy has its own unique compliance requirements. Sellers need to clearly understand these rules and avoid possible losses by strictly abiding by and enforcing them. Complying with the red line and maintaining platform order is also the key to maintaining one’s own brand reputation.
