(i) Register an account

Sellers registered on the Jumia official website must be companies located in Nigeria. Therefore, the official website does not support self-registration by Chinese sellers. Chinese sellers can only register through Jumia’s investment promotion team in China, namely the investment promotion manager. After contacting the investment promotion manager, he will ask the seller to fill out a registration form. After completing the registration, the seller will generally receive an account opening email from the Jumia Seller Center within two working days. Sellers follow the instructions in the email, set a password, log in to the Jumia Seller Center, and complete the Jumia registration and account opening.

(ii) Sign a Jumia business cooperation contract

After the store is successfully registered, if you want to sell on the Jumia platform, you also need to sign a business cooperation contract with the platform official. The contract has a total of 27 pages, which the investment promotion manager will send to the seller via email.

1. Contract signing requirements

Only three pages of the contract need to be printed out and signed and stamped, namely: page 1, page 3 and page 27 (that is, the last page). The contract cannot contain any watermarks. The order of the contract pages cannot be changed.

2. Contract Signing Process

Step 1: Print or scan the three pages of the contract that need to be signed, sign and stamp, and then take a photo or scan (clear, only the contract content in the photo).

Step 2: Convert the photos of these three pages of the contract into PDF format and insert them into the original contract in page order. The page numbers of the new contract cannot be repeated and the order cannot be messed up.

Step 3: Send the new contract to the investment manager’s email according to the email requirements.

On page 1 of the contract, the seller needs to manually sign his store name in the horizontal line part of the box. Please note that only one store name can be filled in a contract.

On page 3 of the contract, the seller needs to fill in the company name and address in the “name/address” column of item 14. Then, stamp the company seal in the box on the lower right side of item 15. Please note that the company name and address can only be filled in in English or pinyin.

Page 27 of the contract is the last page of the entire contract. Sellers need to fill in their names and positions in the “Name” and “Title” columns in the box in the figure, and the last “Sellers signature” column needs to be signed by the legal person. This can be filled in Chinese.

(III) Signing the Jumia Logistics Contract

After signing the cooperation contract, the seller also needs to sign a logistics contract with Jumia. Unlike the cooperation contract above, the logistics contract is all in Chinese, and there is nothing special to pay attention to. The seller can sign according to the terms of the contract.
