Shopee prohibits the manipulation of search results to obtain unfair product rankings. If it is determined that there is false sales, the seller will generally be given three days to remove these false listings. If they fail to improve within the deadline, these products will be banned from trading or deleted. In addition, the display priority of normal listings will also be affected, or the account may be frozen.
The following three situations may be judged as false sales:
(1) Setting inappropriate keywords
Using repeated or irrelevant keywords in product names or descriptions, for example: adding words of other brands such as adidas and Puma under the NIKE sports brand shoes; adding product names such as dresses, trousers, and shoes to short skirt products; mentioning other brand names such as Samsung and Nokia in the Apple iPhone 6s brand; a large number of repeated and meaningless product names such as Apple iPhone6s Apple iPhone6s Apple iPhone.
(2) Misleading and false pricing
Sellers manipulate search results by listing abnormally high or low-priced products, or listing very low-priced products to attract consumers, but the products themselves are marked as not for sale.
(3) Duplicate listings
If there is no obvious difference between the products listed by the seller, they will be considered duplicate listings. Shopee will determine whether duplicate listings have occurred based on product names, product descriptions, product images, prices and categories.
