Here are the top tips we use for our Amazon Live streams:

Design an attractive thumbnail: Before you start your stream, design a thumbnail that will help your Amazon Live video stand out from the rest. For best results, include a photo of yourself, a photo of one or two products you’re discussing, and some text describing your message.

Use reliable Wi-Fi: For best results, don’t rely on your data plan; Amazon Live streams use Wi-Fi networks with at least 4Mbps.

Phone mode: Phones will interrupt your stream, so put all devices in airplane mode before switching to live mode.

Show reviews: One of the assets Amazon sells is its rich user reviews that help buyers make educated decisions. Show reviews of the products you recommend. You can simply pull reviews from your computer or iOS device and use Switcher Cast to share the review screen with your stream.

Boost your following: This is an influencer platform, after all. Get Amazon Live users to follow you and promote your Amazon store by clicking the “+Follow” button in your stream to gain additional viewers on other social media accounts.

Share your video: Similarly, share your Amazon Live video link before linking it to other platforms. Tell people you’ll be live and tell them what you’ll be reviewing.

Keep traffic on Amazon: While you can drive users from other platforms to Amazon, don’t drive users away from Amazon to other platforms. Amazon frowns on this practice and may result in your video being removed.

Add multiple angles: Amazon Live videos are usually long, usually 1-2 hours. It’s a lot of fun because it connects to multiple iOS cameras and streams from multiple angles. Use these angles to emphasize the products you’re discussing. If you’re doing a nail polish review, you’ll want to have angles of your hands and face. If you’re showing off your sports gear, you’ll want to widen the angles of the equipment and get some close-ups on your face.

Include a preview: Start your stream with a pre-recorded video/countdown video. Not only does it give viewers a glimpse of what’s happening live, it also allows you to better leave a mark on your stream.

Utilize text overlays: Lead in a snippet of your stream, display product names, share promo codes, and pause the video with simple text and title overlays. For example, many fashion streamers have text overlays when they leave a clothing store. It lets viewers know they’ll be right back.

Light Organizer: Invite a Guest Organizer on your Amazon Live stream to collaborate with friends or influencers. When streaming with Switcher, visitors can join from nearly any device and location. QVC’s sales approach for years has been one of hosting people discussing products—use the same conversational format in your show.
