What is Brand University?
Since its inception, the Wish platform has always strictly controlled infringing products. However, some merchants still lack knowledge about infringing products and counterfeit products. They do not know what kind of products are infringing products, and do not know how to avoid the risks of infringing products. Therefore, Brand University came into being.
Wish’s Brand University provides merchants with a way to self-study intellectual property and infringing product knowledge. Merchants can learn about counterfeit policies, honest stores, brand authorization, common counterfeit brands and other information.
Entry method: Merchants click “Help” → “Brand University” menu in the upper right corner of the background to enter the Brand University page.
After clicking to enter Brand University, merchants will see the relevant page.
The subsequent content will introduce each function one by one.
4.2.1 List of banned products
1. Understand what products are counterfeit products
Merchants who are new to Wish may not know enough about Wish’s counterfeit policy, and do not understand why their products are judged as counterfeit products. On the “Brand University” page, Wish detailed the basis for judging whether a product is a counterfeit, which can be summarized as follows:
? Directly imitate or allude to a product with intellectual property rights.
? Identical to or not significantly different from the products of other intellectual property owners.
? The picture contains celebrities, such as well-known models, etc.
At the same time, Wish also gave examples of various situations on this page.
1) Direct use of other brands or logos
The brand names or images of Polo Ralph Lauren, D&G, and Oakleys are directly used in the product, and Wish believes that these products are counterfeits.
2) Imitating/similar to other brands or logos
The logo of the product is very similar to that of other brands, and such products will be considered counterfeits.
3) Blurred brand or logo in the picture
If there is obvious blur or modification in the picture to cover the brand, or the brand image is included in the background of the picture, the product will be judged as a counterfeit.
4) Imitating designs or patterns of other brands
Some seemingly inadvertent details are actually the logos or patents of certain brands. The red sole is a patent applied for by the fashionable women’s shoe brand Christian Louboutin, and Burberry has also applied for a patent for the grid pattern. Another example is Levi’s, whose trademark is a red flag sewn on the pocket. If other products imitate or use the designs of these brands, they will be judged as counterfeits.
5) Using celebrities and supermodels as models
If the pictures of celebrities and supermodels are used directly, the product will be judged as a counterfeit.
6) Other brand names appear in product pictures
Some products themselves are not counterfeits, but if the accessories in the pictures have other brand names, such as using other brands’ packaging, hangers, etc., the product will be judged as a counterfeit.
7) People in the picture cover their faces
If the model’s face is directly covered, the product will be judged as a counterfeit by the system.
In addition to introducing the basis for determining counterfeits, Wish also lists some infringing brands on this page. If the merchant cannot provide legal sales authorization, the product will be judged as a counterfeit.
The product list is sorted in alphabetical order. Merchants can learn more about the brand list in the background.
2. Understand which products are prohibited from sale on Wish
On this page, Wish lists the types of products that are prohibited from sale on the platform. Merchants must ensure that their stores have relevant types of products. Merchants can view the original English list in the background page. To ensure that merchants can understand, this book will be listed in Chinese and English.

Merchants can view the information on this page for specific policies.
Merchants should note that if the product listing does not comply with Wish’s policies, the product may be deleted or suspended from sale. Merchants who do not comply with the policy may be subject to review, which may also result in suspension or termination of the account.
