Click the “Discrible Your Item” button to add a product title and description. Click the “Details” button to fill in the basic information description of the product, including size, shipping method and time, return and exchange, etc.

1. Title

The product title should be concise and elegant. In particular, the keywords should be as accurate as possible. Since the eBay platform stipulates that the title must be within 80 characters, the number of characters in the title should be controlled. Generally, the number of characters should be controlled within 11 to 15 characters.

The uppercase and lowercase letters should comply with English writing standards, the first letter of the title should be capitalized, and the search rules should be met, because buyers can judge the professionalism of the store from the title.

The titles written by each person are different, and the style and format are also different. The title writing should be standardized, such as: main keywords + associated words + keywords + product attributes (size, color, shape) + features; brand + quantity + main keywords + associated words + keywords + use + product attributes (size, color, shape) + features.

There are many ways to select keywords for titles, such as: refer to buyers’ hot search terms, associate product terms, match with keywords suggested by eBay, refer to other excellent sellers’ listings settings to obtain useful terms, etc.

2. Product status

The products sold should clearly indicate the status of use, such as brand new, factory refurbished, seller-self-refurbished, second-hand, etc. When a product is selected as brand new, it must be brand new and unused, and its packaging must be consistent with the packaging in the retail channel and the packaging in the picture. Sellers should be as realistic as possible and not engage in fraudulent behavior against buyers.

3. Product details

When describing the products for sale, sellers need to provide complete product details. In addition to PC users, eBay also has mobile users, so the detailed description needs to be refined. Sellers should strictly follow the steps below to edit product descriptions:

(1) Take eBay US as an example. Enter the product publishing page. You can see the Item Description module on the page, that is, the product description setting module. Click “Standard” to directly enter the product description, or click “HTML” to use HTML code to add a more complex product description.

The product description should provide answers to buyers’ common questions and indicate the store’s policies, such as: payment policy, logistics policy, and return and exchange policy. State the working hours (local time zone) and state how long it will take to reply to buyers after receiving the email.

(2) After editing and entering the HTML code in “HTML”, click “Standard” to view the edited effect.

(3) If you edit directly in “Standard”, you can use the toolbar to make simple layout settings for the product description.

4. Logistics

There are three options in the logistics and transportation settings: fixed shipping fee for each item, shipping fee set by sellers in different regions, and no shipping fee for local face-to-face transactions. Generally, sellers will choose the fixed shipping fee model.

Then choose a logistics service provider, such as standard shipping, commercial express, etc. Sellers in my country generally choose ePacket delivery from China. But if you are a seller with an overseas warehouse, you can choose some express delivery such as UPS, DPD, DHL, USPS, etc. When setting it up, you need to choose standard shipping (1 to 6days) or expedited shipping (1 to 4days).

Of course, it also depends on the packaging size and weight of the product. Since cross-border shipping is expensive, you must avoid unnecessary expenses.

5. Return and Exchange Policy

The return and exchange policy should be concise and clear, letting buyers know that the store supports 30-day returns and exchanges. In the Return Policy, don’t forget to set 30 days for All Returns Accepted. Although there are 14, 30, and 60 days to choose from, eBay requires sellers to implement a 30-day return and exchange policy, otherwise the account will not be able to enjoy the 20% eBay preferential policy.
