There are five steps to post a product on eBay. Sellers need to patiently follow the regulations to post the product and avoid omissions.
3.2.1 Step 1: Set detailed and accurate product attributes
The first step to post a product on eBay is to design the product attributes well. The product attributes should be entered in accordance with the principle of truth.
(1) Open the eBay official website and log in with your account, click the “select” button to enter the product listing page.
(2) Fill in the product name, click “get started”, and select the product type.
Note: The product must be posted in the correct category. If there are multiple subcategories, the product must be posted in the corresponding subcategory. For example: a skirt needs to be in the category of “Apparel-Skirts” and not in the category of “Apparel-Others”.
In the “Product Location” column, the seller must fill in the real shipping address of the product. Under normal circumstances, the product location address must be consistent with the account information. If it does not match, the product address must be selected truthfully when posting (it cannot be stated only in the product description) to avoid unnecessary transaction disputes.
It should be noted that the shipping fee should also be consistent with the location of the product. For example: if the account information is Japan, the product location is the UK, and the product is purchased by a UK seller, the shipping fee should be set to the local UK shipping fee, not the shipping fee from Japan to the UK.
eBay has clear requirements for the attributes of uploaded products. When publishing products, you can use links in the product description for promotion. However, some types of links do not meet the usage standards. For example, you cannot add personal or commercial links. It should be noted that no link can jump to a page containing product sales information outside eBay.
High-quality pictures can improve user experience, so eBay has formulated some rules for the release of product pictures: product releases must contain at least one picture; the longest side of the picture must not be less than 500 pixels; the picture cannot contain text borders and illustrations; second-hand product releases cannot use pictures from the eBay product catalog.
Many buyers want to buy high-quality and low-priced products, so product pricing cannot be too high or too low. It is necessary to consider the seller’s own interests and investigate the prices of the same or similar products of other sellers in the market. Price often directly affects the order rate, so the price should be matched with the value.
