During the peak logistics season every year, products are prone to loss or damage. Recently, some sellers said that Amazon had 5,000 items entering the warehouse and lost nearly 400 items. Lost items must be a concern for all sellers! So. How to claim for lost items in FBA? Let’s take a look below.
The first step is to open the Amazon backend and click “Manage Amazon Goods” in the inventory drop-down menu.
The second step is to find and click “Track Goods”, but remember to meet the following conditions:
1) The “Estimated Quantity of Goods” must be greater than the “Quantity of Goods Received”, which is the premise of the claim.
2) The status of the goods must be completed, which is very important.
3) The claim application must be submitted within 90 days after the status of the goods is completed.
The third step is to enter the correct “Tracking Code”, which must be filled in accurately. If there is no logistics tracking number, remember to find a freight forwarder.
The last step is to click on the item information.
If you choose to investigate the lost goods, you need to provide proof of submission of the lost goods. There are two types of inventory proof documents:
One is proof of inventory ownership. If you are a distributor, that is, you provide an invoice for purchasing products, you can use ordinary invoices and VAT invoices. ASIN should reflect the product name and SKU in the invoice. The invoice time should be earlier than your delivery time, the quantity on the invoice should be greater than your delivery quantity, and it should have the name and address of the buyer and seller. If some sellers did not issue invoices at the time, Amazon will also approve the newly issued invoices.
Another type of seller is the manufacturer, that is, they are the manufacturer. This only requires a packing list, that is, a shipping certificate.
The second proof document is a proof of delivery, which proves that Amazon has received your goods. For small package logistics, try not to use screenshots of the official website, but directly contact the logistics complete PDF file. At least the tracking code, quantity, location and time are required on the document. For automobile transport less-than-truckload (LTL) or full truckload (FTL) goods, a proof document stamped by Amazon is required.
After the above documents are ready, you need to appeal to Amazon.
When you appeal, you need to write down your intentions at the beginning. Don’t write about lost items in general, but indicate that the purpose is compensation. After the appeal is completed, click Preview Request and click Submit. Basically, Amazon will respond after waiting for a week. If the item is indeed lost, Amazon will compensate. Compensation amount = (the lowest price of the product in 30 days – Amazon Logistics basic shipping fee – Amazon commission) * loss amount.
This article mainly introduces how sellers should claim when FBA loses goods. When sellers find that they are short of goods, they can follow the above process to operate.
