On Reddit, users can follow their favorite topics, comment on or vote on other people’s posts, or post their own posts. If you want to complete the above tasks, you must first have a Reddit account. After registering an account, the information presented is based on your interests, which can greatly save search time.
Open the Reddit website homepage.
The registration steps are as follows:
(1) Click the button in the upper right corner of the homepage to pop up the registration page.
After reviewing the user agreement, click the “User Agreement” item to pop up the user agreement window, as shown in Figure 9-3. The user agreement describes the website’s functions, account creation rules, account security, how to use Reddit, advertising and promotion rules, copyright, issues that need attention, etc.
Registration selection. When registering, users can click “CONTINUE WITH GOOGLE” or “CONTINUE WITH APPLE” to use GOOGLE
(2Click the “Continue” button and the “Choose your username” window will pop up. Enter a username in the “Choosea username” text box, or select a recommended username in blue font under “Here are some username suggestions”. The username is public and does not have to be related to your real name. The username cannot be modified after it is set, so when setting a username, you can choose something that includes brand keywords or personal names. The recommended password is at least 16 characters long and includes uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols.
(3)After the username and password are set, click “Perform human-computer identity verification” and the verification page will pop up, as shown in Figure 9-7. Select the content to be verified according to the prompts.
(4)Click the verification button, and click “Sign up” after verification is passed. “Up” button, the subscription page will pop up. On the subscription page, the left column is the industry field, and the right column is the corresponding community. Select the industry field and community according to the user’s situation, and click the “join” button to join the community of interest.
(5) After joining the community, click the “Finish” button to enter your account page. Users can register on Reddit. Reddit does not limit the number of accounts. Users can have multiple accounts or create several “one-time” accounts when necessary. However, please note that Reddit stipulates that children under the age of 13 are not allowed to create accounts or use services in other ways; some services require children to be at least 18 years old.
