With the upgrading of national consumption and the improvement of users’ requirements for product quality and product variety, cross-border e-commerce platforms are paying more and more attention to satisfying consumers’ pursuit of high-quality goods by tapping into users’ potential needs. McKinsey, a consulting firm, proposed that data has penetrated into every industry and business function today and has become an important factor of production. People’s mining and application of massive data heralds the arrival of a new wave of productivity growth and consumer surplus. Business data is playing an increasingly important role.
Basic concepts of cross-border e-commerce data
Data refers to symbols that record and identify objective events, and are physical symbols or combinations of these physical symbols that record the nature, state and mutual relationship of objective things. Specifically, data is the result of facts or observations, a logical summary of objective things, and an unprocessed raw material used to represent objective things. It is a recognizable and abstract symbol. Data can be continuous values, such as sound, images, etc., which are called analog data. The size of the sound and the change of temperature are analog data; it can also be discrete values, such as symbols and text, which are called digital data. The data processed by the computer system is digital data. Business data mainly refers to data symbols that record business, economic and other activity areas. When business, economic and other activity areas are limited to the cross-border e-commerce industry, business data is called cross-border e-commerce data.
