1. From Line
The first thing recipients look at is who sent the email. The From Line has two components: the sender that appears in your inbox and the sender that appears after you open the email.
2. Subject Line
The subject line you see before you open the email briefly describes the subject of the email. Customers often decide whether to open an email based on the subject line.
3. Open Rate
The open rate is a count of how many recipients opened an email message, image, or clicked on a link. This only applies to HTML emails, since plain text emails don’t have images. Counting open rates is just the first of several steps necessary to convert email readers into visitors to your website and, ultimately, buyers of your products.
4. Bounces
Bounces are emails that never reached their destination and were returned to the sender. There are two types of bounces: hard bounces and soft bounces. A hard bounce is an email sent to a domain or email address that no longer exists or never existed. You must have a system in place to delete hard bounces immediately. In contrast to hard bounces, soft bounces are caused by temporary conditions that prevent the email from being sent normally. There are two main reasons for soft bounces: one is that the mailbox is full, and the other is that the server has a problem.
5. Opt-out or unsubscribe
Opt-out or unsubscribe refers to a customer’s request to be removed from an email list. Customers can do this after receiving the first email, or by checking the opt-out box in advance. The number of recipients who request that their email address be removed from the list is the number of opt-outs.
6. Confirmation
Confirmation refers to a customer’s choice to receive email or promotional information by actively checking the confirmation box. Under normal circumstances, less than 10% of customers will choose to allow receiving emails.
7. Double confirmation or explicit permission After the user initially registers, he or she will receive a confirmation email, and the user must reply (such as clicking the “Reply” button or clicking the URL contained in the email) before you can add him or her to the email list.
