Two-step verification using a security key or biometricsNote
To use this form of authentication, you need to migrate your Shopify account to use Shopify ID.
You can use a WebAuthn-compliant security key as a second verification method to log in to your account. To enable two-step verification using a security key, you need a compatible browser and a compatible security key. After you register a new security key with your account, you’ll be prompted to activate it when you log in.
To avoid getting locked out of your account, you can register multiple security keys and multiple two-step verification methods.
The following browsers are compatible with security keys:
Google Chrome for desktop, version 67 and above
Mozilla Firefox for desktop, version 60 and above
Google Chrome for Android, version 73 and above
Mozilla Firefox for Android, version 66 and above
Microsoft Edge 18 and above
Opera 54 and above
Safari Technology Preview 83 or later
Brave for iOS version 1.11.3 and later
NOTE
Biometric security keys do not work in private browsing visits.

Steps
In your Shopify admin, tap your username and account picture.
Tap Manage Account > Security.
In the Two-Step Verification section, tap Enable two-step verification.
Select Security Key or Biometrics, and then tap Next.
Enter a name for your security key.
Enter your password.
Tap Add Device.
Activate your security key. You will be presented with a list of 10 recovery codes.
Save your recovery codes in a safe place in case you lose access to your mobile device. Make sure you save your recovery codes offline to a safe location that you can access in multiple ways, such as a mobile device, desktop computer, and printed document.
Now when you try to sign in, you will need to use your security key for two-step verification.
