In the process of operating a store, have you ever encountered this situation: without receiving any notification from Amazon, your listing has become a dog for no reason, and you cannot find the reason by contacting customer service. Why did a good Amazon listing become a dog? You may have the following problems.

1. The content of the listing is in violation of regulations

The following parts of the product page involve infringement or violations, including: the product title contains the words of other brands, the product description plagiarizes others, the product pictures directly use others, the keywords contain sensitive words, the video exaggerates the product efficacy, etc. Infringement occurs in places that do not comply with Amazon’s policy regulations. Once infringement is found, your listing will immediately become a dog.

Amazon stipulates: Within 90 days, if the seller does not provide proof of authenticity, the platform reserves the right to destroy the inventory related to this illegal behavior. Violation of this policy may also lead to the deactivation of the seller’s account or other legal consequences.

2. New products have not been given the right to sell

After a novice seller uploads a product for the first time, Amazon’s backend defaults to self-delivery. You need to switch to FBA delivery yourself. During your conversion, your listing will be inactive, commonly known as “listing becomes a dog”. It can only return to normal after your product is shipped to the FBA warehouse.

3. FBA warehouse inventory is sold out

The product is selling too well, and the replenishment is not timely, resulting in out of stock. Long-term out of stock will cause your store weight to decrease at the least, and the listing will become a dog in serious cases.

4. Variant sharing review

The seller merges and shares the review of a product that was sold very well but discontinued with the new product listing, resulting in inconsistent information such as the category of the new product and the old product. This operation directly violates Amazon’s policies. Once Amazon finds out, your listing will immediately become a dog.

5. Competitors’ spoofs and suppression

Competitors maliciously tamper with the relatively good-selling listings through VC accounts, causing them to deliberately trigger Amazon’s red line and directly turn them into dogs, or take advantage of the fact that many sellers only register one category when registering a brand, and other new categories that are subsequently listed are not registered brands, and peers directly register your trademark first and then complain about you, causing all the listings in the categories that you did not register in time to turn into dogs.

6. Too many negative reviews on the listing

If a product listing has a large number of negative reviews in a short period of time, a high complaint rate or a high return rate, it will also directly turn into a dog.
