Wish announced that in order to cope with the planned price increase of China Post’s surface mail on April 10, 2019, and to help merchants continue to use appropriate logistics providers and service levels to achieve a better user experience, for merchants using WishPost China Post’s surface mail logistics channel, the China Post’s surface mail price increase will be subsidized by 75%. Merchants will only need to pay 25% of the increase in freight, and merchants are strongly encouraged to continue to choose appropriate logistics service providers and service levels to achieve a better user experience.

The announcement shows that starting from 0:00 on April 10, 2019, Beijing time, China Post’s surface mail business will increase freight. For merchants using WishPost China Post’s surface mail channel to deliver existing products, Wish will provide a 75% subsidy for the increase in China Post’s surface mail freight. Merchants can obtain subsidies by following the steps below:

1. Merchants will first see and pay the increased China Post Ordinary Mail channel shipping fees in their WishPost accounts when they ship;

2. Subsidized orders and the subsidy amount for each order will be displayed on the “Orders > History” page in the merchant backend;

3. Merchants will receive a refund as part of their payment in accordance with the Wish Order Payment Eligibility Policy.

WishPost stated that since Wish will subsidize 75% of the increase in China Post Ordinary Mail shipping fees, merchants will eventually only need to pay 25% of the increase in shipping fees.

The announcement also pointed out that the eligibility requirements for Wish subsidies include (but are not limited to) the following:

1. WishPost China Post Ordinary Mail channel (WishPost China Post Registered Mail channel shipping fees are not subsidized);

2. Existing products (products uploaded after 0:00 Beijing time on April 10, 2019 are not eligible for subsidies).

1. When will the 75% freight subsidy be returned?

Orders that meet the requirements are eligible to enjoy the 75% freight subsidy of the China Post Ordinary Mail portion provided by Wish after the logistics service provider confirms the shipment (Confirmed Shipped). The corresponding subsidy will be returned as part of the merchant’s payment after the order is successfully delivered according to the “Wish Order Payment Eligibility” policy.

2. Parcel weight ≤ 80 grams, parcel weight must be updated by China Post within 48 hours after sending. If it is not updated within 48 hours, can it continue to enjoy the subsidy?

For orders whose parcel weight information is not updated within 48 hours, the corresponding freight subsidy will not be available. Data shows that in the past month, the logistics information of more than 99% of China Post’s orders will be updated within 48 hours. Wish will provide logistics support to as many merchants as possible!
