After understanding the account types on the Amazon platform, sellers need to prepare the information required to register an account, which mainly includes contact information and company information.

(1) Contact information

The seller’s contact information mainly includes email, name, phone number, address, etc.

① Email

Because the Amazon platform does not have a communication tool for buyers and sellers to communicate in real time, general store issues are handled through email.

When preparing an email, sellers cannot use domestic emails, such as QQ mailboxes and NetEase 163 mailboxes. If domestic emails are used, sometimes sellers will not receive platform emails and buyer emails, resulting in an inability to handle store issues in a timely manner.

In addition, the email account name should be consistent with the Amazon store name as much as possible. For example, if a seller’s store name is named seller, then when registering an email, the seller can edit the email user name to seller@+email suffix. This email setting method helps to enhance the store brand image when buyers contact sellers through email. Of course, when registering an email address, sellers should pay attention to whether the store name and email address are already in use. It is recommended to prepare several backup names.

② Name

The name used by the seller when registering on Amazon must be a real and valid personal name or corporate registration name. When Amazon conducts an official review, the seller can provide proof of the name, such as the ID card of the personal name.

③ Phone

The phone number must be a phone number that the seller has used for a long time. It is best to apply for a new number specifically for Amazon stores so that relevant personnel can be contacted at any time to avoid number changes or loss.

④ Address

The address must also be completely accurate and consistent with the address where bills (water, electricity, etc. bills, required for background review) can be provided.

(2) Corporate information

The corporate information that corporate sellers need to prepare includes the legal representative’s ID card and business documents.

① ID card of legal representative

The legal representative refers to the person in charge who exercises authority on behalf of the corporate legal person (corporate legal person refers to a social and economic organization that complies with national laws, can independently bear civil liability, and has obtained legal person status after approval and registration by the competent authority) in accordance with the law or the corporate constitution. When registering on Amazon, corporate sellers need to provide proof of identity of the legal representative.

② Commercial documents

For mainland Chinese sellers, commercial documents refer to business licenses; for sellers in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China, they are corporate registration certificates and business registration regulations; for sellers in Taiwan, China, they are limited company establishment registration forms or joint stock company establishment registration forms, limited company change registration forms or joint stock company change registration forms.
