With the advancement of globalization, China’s cross-border e-commerce industry is booming. However, its logistics model faces a series of challenges, which directly affect the operation of the entire cross-border e-commerce industry chain. This article will conduct an in-depth analysis of the problems existing in China’s cross-border logistics model and propose corresponding solutions.

1. Lack of efficient warehousing system

One of the primary problems of my country’s cross-border logistics is the inadequacy of the warehousing system. Due to the continuous expansion of cross-border e-commerce business, the existing warehousing facilities cannot meet the growing demand for orders. This leads to insufficient storage space and low warehousing efficiency, affecting the smoothness of the entire supply chain.

Countermeasures: Strengthen investment in intelligent warehousing technology, introduce automation systems, and improve warehousing efficiency. At the same time, in order to meet the rapid growth of business, more cross-border e-commerce dedicated warehousing centers have been established.

2. High transportation costs

Transportation costs have always been one of the bottlenecks restricting the development of cross-border e-commerce in my country. Due to the complexity and uncertainty of international freight, cross-border e-commerce faces problems such as high transportation costs and tariff costs, which directly affect the competitiveness of goods.

Countermeasures: Reduce logistics costs by strengthening international logistics cooperation. Promote the construction of international logistics channels to be more convenient and efficient, and reduce the time and cost waste in the transportation of goods.

3. Cumbersome customs clearance

Due to the differences in laws, regulations, policies and customs regulations of different countries and regions, cross-border e-commerce often faces cumbersome processes and related requirements when clearing customs. This not only slows down the circulation of goods, but also increases the company’s operating costs.

Countermeasures: Promote the internationalization of cross-border e-commerce standards, coordinate customs procedures of various countries, and simplify customs clearance procedures. At the same time, improve the training level of relevant personnel and improve customs clearance efficiency.

4. Opaque logistics information

Cross-border e-commerce involves multiple links and involves information sharing among multiple parties. At present, there are problems such as information islands and information opacity, which lead to untimely and inaccurate logistics information and enhance the difficulty of order management.

Response: Comprehensively promote Internet of Things technology and big data analysis to realize real-time sharing of global logistics data. By building an intelligent logistics platform, the traceability and transparency of logistics information can be improved.

Although China’s cross-border e-commerce has achieved remarkable development results, it still faces a series of problems in the logistics model. By strengthening technological innovation, international cooperation and policy support, my country’s cross-border logistics model is expected to gradually move towards a more efficient, convenient and sustainable development path. Only on the basis of solving this problem can China’s cross-border e-commerce better integrate into the global market and achieve high-quality development.
