Product follow-up is different from self-built product listing, but it is also a product release method often used by most sellers when releasing products. The following will explain the concept of product follow-up and the two setting methods of product follow-up (front-end setting and back-end setting) respectively.
1. Overview of product follow-up
Product follow-up is a special function on Amazon. Sellers can sell products without building their own listing pages. For example, multiple sellers sell product A at the same time. Mr. Wang uses the self-built listing method to release product A. If other sellers also want to sell product A, they only need to follow the product and do not need to create a new listing page for product A. However, this method of releasing products has certain limitations. The products are the same (pictures, packaging, parameters, functions, performance, color, size, etc. are all the same) and there is no brand (products cannot have TM.R and other logos). On the Amazon platform, sellers can check whether the product is being followed under the five-point description on the product listing page.
The products that are followed and sold are generally popular. Sellers can quickly intercept traffic by following and selling products. The most direct effect is to increase the order volume, increase the store traffic and drive the sales of other products in the store. However, following and selling products is also a high-risk behavior. The biggest risk is being complained by sellers or brand merchants with brand authorization and buyers, resulting in account restrictions or closure.
2. Front-end settings
After the seller finds the product he wants to follow and sells, he will see a Sell on Amazon button below the product shopping cart after entering the product listing page. Click to enter the information filling page to enter the follow-selling setting process.
3. Backstage settings
Find the product code (ASIN code, UPC code, etc.) or product title in the product specification display area, search on the product release page, click the “Search” button to find the product and enter the follow-up setting process.
The setting process of product follow-up is very simple. Because the product already has a Listing page with complete information, the seller only needs to set the price, status, inventory, etc. of the product to put it on the shelf for sale.
If the seller wants to cancel the follow-up sale of a certain product, the seller only needs to change the product inventory to 0 and delete the follow-up product in the “Manage Inventory” sub-tab under the “Inventory” tab.
