Main festivals and eating habits in Thailand
Main festivals in Thailand include New Year (January 1), Loy Krathong (the first full moon day of the twelfth month of the Thai calendar), Songkran (April 13 to April 15), and Spring Ploughing Festival (May 10). In terms of eating habits, the staple food is mostly rice. Most Thais like spicy dishes and like to put fish sauce and MSG in their dishes, but most do not like braised dishes, nor do they like to put sugar and soy sauce in their dishes.
