Facebook (www.facebook.com) is the world’s largest social networking site. Facebook was created by Mark Zuckerberg in February 2004 and currently has more than 2.2 billion users worldwide.
1. Register an account and edit information
(1) Register an account
First, you should register a Facebook account. To register an account, you only need a mobile phone number or email address that can receive text messages.
Open www.facebook.com. Fill in the registration information. Enter your name, mobile phone number or email address, login password, birthday, and gender. This information can be changed after the account is registered, so don’t worry about filling it in incorrectly.
When all the registration information is filled in correctly, click the “Register” button and you will enter the mobile phone number verification process.
Enter the received SMS verification code into the box, then click the “Continue” button to complete the mobile phone number verification and you will have a Facebook account. After the mobile phone number verification is completed, you can enter your personal homepage.
If you selected an email address when registering, you will be prompted to verify your email address. Log in to your registered email address and click the “Confirm” button in the verification email to complete the verification. At this point, the account registration is successful.
(2) Edit Profile
There is an “Edit Profile” link under the account name in the upper left corner of the Facebook homepage. Click the link to enter the edit profile page.
The edited profiles are:
Overview
Work and education
Places you have lived
Contact information and basic information
Family members and relationship status
Your detailed profile
Major events
These information can be modified at any time and can be filled in or not filled in according to the situation. It is generally recommended to fill in some information appropriately so that the account does not look too empty. If you fill in the information, Facebook will recommend relevant friends and push relevant information to you based on the information you fill in. Among them, the most commonly used one should be the major events. We have seen that many accounts or public homepages have a timeline that records some events at each time node. This is the function of the major events.
The default event list is empty. Click “Add a Life Chronicle” and a list box will pop up with five categories to choose from: work and education, family and relationships, home and life, health and maintenance, travel and experience. You can choose any time node for the event, that is, you can choose a time node earlier than the Facebook account registration.
