As one of the earliest users of China’s cross-border e-commerce, we have always believed that there are two major directions for the development of China’s cross-border e-commerce:
First, the construction of overseas warehouses;
Second, localized operation services in the destination country. In July 2015, Dunhuang.com’s multi-language and multi-site overseas warehouse project was officially launched, including sites in Spain, Russia, Portugal, Italy, Germany, France and other countries.
There are currently two biggest pain points in cross-border e-commerce:
First, the logistics experience is poor, the speed is slow, and the damage and loss are serious.
Second, the sales experience is very poor, and product disputes and product after-sales service are very difficult to handle.
The only way to solve these problems is the large-scale construction of overseas warehouses, and the best way to improve customer experience is to develop localized operations in the destination country. The construction of overseas warehouses is directly related to the core of China’s cross-border e-commerce development. I predict that it will take at least 5 years for China’s export cross-border e-commerce to truly mature, and the decisive factors are the construction of overseas warehouses and localized operations in the destination country.
