Logistics business personnel complete the forecast work on the operating system based on the information provided by cross-border e-commerce customers, assign a waybill number to each shipment, match the route requirements and customer requirements, and formulate a pre-allocation plan. The business personnel then need to complete the booking of cabins at least one week before shipment. This requires considering the appropriate aircraft model from the aspects of weight limit, volume limit, cabin door limit, and aircraft cargo hold floor bearing capacity. The calculation formula for the pad area is pad area = cargo weight / floor bearing capacity limit
(1) Classification of aircraft
Aircraft are divided into wide-body aircraft and narrow-body aircraft according to the width of the fuselage; they can be divided into all-cargo aircraft, all-passenger aircraft, and passenger-cargo mixed aircraft according to the purpose of use. The fuselage of a narrow-body aircraft is about 3 meters wide, with an aisle between passenger seats. This type of aircraft often only transports bulk cargo in the cargo hold below. The fuselage of a wide-body aircraft is wider, with two aisles in the cabin and three rows of seats. The fuselage width is generally more than
4.72 meters. This type of aircraft can transport containerized cargo and bulk cargo. Both the main cabin and the lower cabin of an all-cargo aircraft are used for cargo, while only the lower cabin of an all-passenger aircraft can carry cargo. A mixed-use passenger and cargo aircraft has passenger seats in the front of the main cabin, and cargo can be loaded in the rear. Cargo can also be loaded in the lower cabin.
(2) Containers and containers
Aviation containers can be divided into registered aircraft containers and unregistered container ships according to whether they are registered or not. They can be divided into pallets and nets, and structural and non-structural container sheds according to their use. Containers include air-land transport containers, main cargo hold containers, and lower cargo hold containers.
(3) Cargo receiving operations
The airline sends a “delivery notice” to the logistics company or the cargo owner, and the logistics company or the cargo owner sends the goods to the airline’s customs-supervised warehouse.
