To set up a store on the AliExpress platform, you must first register and authenticate your AliExpress account. There are two ways to register an account: one is to register as a Taobao merchant or Tmall merchant; the other is to register using an email address.

1. Register using an email address

Enter the AliExpress seller page and click “Sign in now” in the upper right corner to set the page language to Simplified Chinese, which is more convenient for Chinese sellers to use. Enter your email address as your login name. After completing the mobile phone verification and email verification, a successful registration page will appear.

2. Real-name authentication

After completing the account registration, continue to complete the information, that is, to perform real-name authentication of the AliExpress account.

Real-name authentication includes two types, one is corporate authentication and the other is personal authentication. Both types of authentication require an Alipay account that has been successfully authenticated. As an ordinary seller, you should choose the self-employed authentication method. Clicking “Go to authentication” will jump to the Alipay login page. After successfully logging in, complete the authorization on the Alipay and AliExpress authorization page, fill in and submit personal information, and wait for the platform to review. The review period is 2 to 3 working days.

During the process of registering and opening a store, including Alipay binding, email verification, and mobile phone verification, no fees need to be paid to the AliExpress platform.

3. Select the sales plan type

If the authentication has been passed, the seller needs to enter the store backend to select the sales plan type. AliExpress has two types of sales plans, namely the standard sales plan and the basic sales plan. The main difference between the two is reflected in the annual fee settlement and function usage rights. A store can only choose one type of sales plan. Corporate stores can choose the standard sales plan or the basic sales plan. Individual business stores can only choose the basic sales plan for the first time. After meeting the conditions, the basic sales plan can be upgraded to the standard sales plan.

4. Select the store type

Store types include official stores, specialty stores, franchise stores, and other stores.

5. Select the main category

Each AliExpress account is only allowed to select one business scope for operation, and can operate one or more major categories under the business scope. Each major business category is divided into several main categories. You can apply for one main category each time. If you want to operate multiple main categories under one major business category, you can apply for multiple times. It is worth noting that special categories are not open to investment separately, but adopt an accompanying access system. As long as the seller is allowed to join any major business category, he can obtain the right to operate goods in the special category.

6. Enter the business trademark

If the trademark input is not displayed, you must first perform “trademark addition” and then apply for trademark qualifications. If there is no business trademark, you can directly check No brand and skip this step.

7. Submit information for review

It is estimated that the information review will be completed within 10 working days. If the review fails, you can log in to the AliExpress store backend, click “Contact Customer Service” in the upper right corner or resubmit according to the reason for the failure of the review.

8. Payment

After the review is completed, the seller will complete the settlement after paying the fee.
