UPC exemption, full name Global Trade Item Code Exemption (GTIN exemption), all products sold on Amazon must fill in the UPC/electronic code when listing. But if the seller has completed the brand record. Then the seller can use GCID to list the brand’s related products. That is to say, after the successful exemption, the platform will automatically generate a code every time the seller lists the product.

After the seller successfully applies for UPC exemption, the product can be exempted from using the UPC code. If the official UPC code is 1 yuan per piece, it may also save the seller a fee, especially for general sellers and boutique sellers.
