In recent years, with the booming development of e-commerce, Amazon, as one of the world’s largest online retail platforms, has continued to launch new services and preferential policies to enhance the experience of sellers and consumers. In the latest developments, Amazon’s Global Logistics Service (AGL) and Amazon Warehousing & Distribution (AWD) have brought a series of important changes and upgrades to provide sellers with more convenient and efficient services.
AGL customs clearance mode helps low-value goods
According to the US Customs 321 Act, AGL has opened the Type 86 (T86) customs clearance mode for low-value goods from China to the United States. This move allows eligible goods to enjoy import duty-free and customs clearance speed is more efficient. In particular, for goods expected to arrive at the port after October 2, 2023, AGL customs clearance agents will clear them through the T86 customs clearance mode, further simplifying the customs clearance process. It should be noted that each importer is allowed to import goods with a total value of no more than US$800 per day.
AWD upgrade solves sellers’ replenishment problems
AWD has recently been upgraded and is now available to all sellers on the US site. This upgrade is designed to solve sellers’ replenishment problems and enable sellers to manage inventory more conveniently. It is worth mentioning that the warehouse distribution network does not accept express delivery for the time being. Standard ASIN requires product size and weight restrictions: length not exceeding 18 inches, width not exceeding 14 inches, height not exceeding 8 inches, and weight not exceeding 20 pounds.
Amazon opens its first logistics center in Turkey
On the other hand, Amazon officially opened its first logistics center in Turkey in Tuzla, Turkey, on the Asian side of Istanbul, and held an opening ceremony. According to Amazon’s press release, the logistics center has invested more than $100 million and absorbed hundreds of employees. Amazon also announced that it will create 1,000 new jobs for the local community within the first year of opening.
The above are the latest developments and upgrades of Amazon’s global logistics and warehouse distribution network. These changes will bring sellers more convenient and efficient services, and enhance their competitiveness and performance on the Amazon platform. As the e-commerce industry continues to develop, Amazon will continue to be committed to providing sellers and consumers with better shopping experience and services.
