Export wood packaging is usually divided into two types: fumigated and fumigation-free. It is generally referred to as materials for packaging, padding, supporting and reinforcing goods. For example, wooden boxes, crates, wooden pallets, warehouse wood, wooden barrels, wooden pads, sleepers, wooden lining boards, wooden shafts, wooden wedges, etc. All wood must be fumigated and marked with the IPPC mark.

Among them, wood/logs as raw materials must be fumigated before they can be exported after being approved by the national inspection and quarantine agency; OSB boards, MDF materials, plywood (plywood), particle boards, fiberboards, etc., synthetic boards, recycled boards and other materials that have been treated with high temperature and high pressure do not need to be fumigated, and can be exported directly without fumigation.

Wooden packaging and exported to Canada, the United States, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and other countries or products that customers require to be fumigated must be fumigated compulsorily. The United States and Canada are required to issue official fumigation certificates, otherwise, either the goods will be fumigated at the port (the cost is sky-high) or the goods will be destroyed.

Therefore, this is not a new regulation. The country has always had fumigation-related regulations for wooden products and packaging. Export sellers who use wooden packaging must carefully implement the pest control of wooden packaging. The cost of pest control for wooden packaging is relatively low. Before the goods are packaged for export, the freight forwarder must be informed of the packaging method. Do not encounter high-risk returns in order to save a little fumigation and pest control costs.

Some requirements for fumigation:

1. Fumigation time: The actual fumigation time must be more than 24 hours. After fumigation, the fumigation team will put a fumigation logo with a skull logo on the cabinet door. The fumigation operator will remove the logo after 24 hours and expel it from the body after 4 hours. If the door is closed before the poisoning time is long enough, it may cause damage to the goods.

It should be noted in particular that for countries such as Australia and New Zealand that require a national official (Inspection and Quarantine Bureau) fumigation certificate, such as cabinets shipped from Shenzhen Port in Guangdong, it is necessary to complete the loading of the cabinet and put the cabinet into the fumigation supervision place designated by the customs before customs declaration. Therefore, it is safer to keep the fumigation operation time for up to two days. For goods that require commodity inspection for export, the goods must arrive at the site no later than two days before the date of shipment.

2. Packaging requirements: There must be no bark, mildew, or worm eyes in the wooden packaging! There must be no bark, mildew, or worm eyes in the wooden package! There must be no bark, mildew, or worm eyes in the wooden package! (Remember)

If there are bark or worm eyes in the wooden packaging, the shipper must be notified to change the packaging. After fumigation, if fumigation is required, it must be cleared for import at the destination port, and it cannot be supplemented after the goods leave.

The above are the requirements for fumigation of export wooden packaging, I hope it will be helpful to you.
