Among many cross-border e-commerce platforms, Amazon is quite popular among Chinese sellers, but it is not as friendly as imagined. In order to protect the interests of sellers and create the ultimate customer shopping experience, Amazon has set the rules of the game. The rules cannot be broken and the bottom line cannot be touched, otherwise the store will face the risk of being closed. So what behaviors will lead to the closure of the store?
1. Infringement
As we all know, European and American countries have very strict protection of intellectual property rights. Therefore, when doing business in foreign markets, in addition to protecting your own intellectual property rights, you must also ensure that you do not infringe on the intellectual property rights of others. The same is true on the Amazon platform. If a seller is complained of infringement, the product will be removed from the shelves at the least, and the account will be directly blocked and the store will be closed at the worst.
During the operation process, the easiest thing to touch the line is to follow the sale. For most novices, following the sale is a good starting mode. Follow the sale to sell hot-selling products and intercept the traffic of big sellers, so as to quickly receive orders and open up the situation. However, if novices imitate too much, the probability of touching the line is very high.
So how to avoid the high-voltage line?
(1) It is best to stay away from big brands. If you want to make branded products, you must first obtain authorization.
(2) Do more homework. Before deciding to follow the sale, novices must search for information such as the trademark of the product to follow and ensure safety before following the sale.
(3) Avoid “taking advantage of the situation”. Do not try to use processed pictures of other sellers, do not be smart and use the variants or derivatives of other brand names, and do not publish pictures that imitate the representative patterns of well-known brands. In short, it is better to be careful without authorization.
If infringement occurs, Amazon will issue a warning. If it receives two warnings in a month, the store will be closed.
Second, selling counterfeit goods
No matter what platform it is, it is prohibited to sell counterfeit goods, and the requirements of the Amazon platform are stricter. Luo Keyi, vice president of Amazon China, once said that if Amazon sellers sell counterfeit goods by third parties, they will be investigated immediately once they are found, and once it is confirmed that they sell counterfeit goods, the store will be closed immediately.
Amazon says this and does this. It can be said that Amazon has zero tolerance for counterfeit goods. This is actually consistent with Amazon’s core concept of focusing on customers and not sellers.
