The Customization Program provides an Excel template that can help you bulk configure products for customization. Please follow the steps below to access the template:

Make sure the products you want to enable customization for are active in your inventory on Amazon. Note: It is recommended that you change the inventory setting of your products to “1” before fully enabling customization. Once enabled, customized products must maintain a positive amount of active inventory (greater than 1) to maintain customization eligibility. Customized products with no active inventory may lose their eligibility for customization. Go to Inventory and select Manage Inventory. Select Customized Products. Click Enable Customized Products by Upload. Click Link to Template File to open the downloaded file

Descriptions for each required field are on the Data Definitions tab. Follow the instructions and upload the file to configure multiple products for customization at the same time.

When saving the file, you will need to save as a Unicode file, to do this follow the steps below.

For Windows-based computers:

Once you have completed filling out the template, select Save As. At the bottom right corner, click on the small arrow next to the Save button. Select Network Options. In the pop-up window, select the Encoding tab. In the drop-down menu provided under Save this file as, select Unicode. Save your file as a Tab-delimited text (*.txt) file.

For Mac-based computers:

Once you have completed filling out the template, select Save As. Select the file format as UTF-16 Unicode Text (.txt) and save your file.

To upload your file, go to the Upload your file tab, click on the Browse button, navigate to your saved template and click on the Upload button.

Once you’ve uploaded your file, you can monitor the status of your upload by going to the Monitor Upload Status tab. Depending on the size of your file, it may take several minutes to see a line item showing the status of your upload. Wait under the Upload Status column until you see “Completed” for the Upload Status. If the value for “Error Logs” is greater than 0, click the Download link to get your report. See Bulk Enable Custom Error Codes for help with error codes. If some rows are not processed, you may need to add or update the value for surface_name1.

Note:

Adding new columns to your template will corrupt your template file.

Please note that the language of the status report generated will be the language of the original upload data.

Custom Products: Helpful Tips for Bulk Uploads

1. Keep font and image files to a maximum size of 3MB.

2. Include at least one font type, one font color, and one surface_name1 value.

3. Save your template in a location that’s easy to remember. If you have updated your content without saving the template, you will not be able to download any previously uploaded content and will need to start over.

4. The easiest way to create an image is to keep the text box in the same position so that the text box coordinates are always in the same position. If you cannot easily get the coordinates using the image editing tool, try getting the coordinates for each ASIN one by one.

5. The text box in the tool cannot be rotated, please rotate the image.
