Issues to note when participating in an exhibition in Brazil:
(1) Decide which exhibition you want to participate in. There are many types of exhibitions held in Brazil every year. Some exhibitions have similar names, but there are differences in scale, popularity or exhibition content. Before deciding to participate in an exhibition, you must fully research or consult relevant professional exhibition companies to investigate clearly.
(2) Understand the booth you need to buy. When purchasing a booth, you must check the price clearly, whether it is a standard booth, a special booth or an open space. At the same time, in addition to the booth fee, you may also have to pay other related fees such as water and electricity fees, municipal taxes, etc. when purchasing a booth in Brazil. These contents must also be confirmed accurately.
(3) Exhibit selection. In addition to being representative enough, you must also find out in advance whether the exhibition has restrictions on the types of exhibits, because some exhibitions in Brazil clearly stipulate that certain products cannot be exhibited.
(4) Exhibit equipment certification. In particular, electronic equipment, valuable equipment or exhibits with high risk levels need to go through temporary import procedures in advance. In May 2019, on the afternoon of the third day of the Brazilian Medical Exhibition, officials from the Brazilian National Health Supervision Agency sealed off more than a dozen booths, mainly because the exhibitors did not go through the temporary import procedures when importing equipment, or the number of products was far greater than the import license. At the same time, at the exhibition, do not sell unregistered products and products with high risk levels.
(5) Public security issues. Be careful to keep your personal belongings at the booth. Some exhibitors’ mobile phones were stolen from the booth and it was difficult to find them back. At other times outside the exhibition, it is recommended that exhibitors do not act alone. If they encounter danger, they should actively hand over their mobile phones and wallets. Do not argue with criminals. Personal safety is the most important thing.
