As of June 2017, MercadoLibre had over 80 million page views on its Mexican site alone, with its best-selling categories mainly including mobile phones and accessories, other electronic products, fashion, home gardening, sporting goods and auto parts. According to Euromonitor International, MercadoLibre accounted for 7% of the market share in Mexico in 2017.
2. Amazon Mexico
In 2016, Amazon Mexico had over 20,000 domestic and international sellers providing over 50 million products to Mexican customers. From the perspective of the relevant transaction categories on Amazon Mexico, clothing accessories, sports and health products, 3C electronic products, home appliances, toys and entertainment are all popular. According to Euromonitor International, in 2017, Amazon Mexico’s revenue grew 106% year-on-year to $502 million.
3. Linio
Linio began to enter the Latin American market in 2012. Headquartered in Mexico, it mainly serves more than 500 million consumers in the Spanish-speaking region of Latin America. According to Race, Limio’s investment manager, among all categories on the Linio platform, the 3C category has seen a significant increase, and health and beauty products have achieved a substantial growth of 10 times compared to the same period in 2016. Fashion products including clothing accessories, luggage, watches and perfumes have achieved an explosive growth of up to 12 times.
