Principles for selecting logistics methods:

(1) For new cross-border e-commerce sellers, they should first choose the appropriate logistics method based on the characteristics of the products they sell (size, whether they are fragile, etc.). For example, large products (such as furniture) are not suitable for postal parcel channels and are more suitable for overseas warehouse models.

(2) Amazon sellers can use FBA to ship directly by themselves in the early stage. Although FBA has a disadvantage in terms of price, it can help sellers get familiar with the entire process first, and then use the overseas warehouse model when orders are stable. This approach can reduce investment on the one hand, and save time on the other hand, and prevent losses caused by blind distribution of goods

(3) New sellers can choose different logistics methods according to the peak and off-season. Sellers can use small packages to reduce costs in the off-season based on product analysis; in the peak season or promotion period, choose logistics service providers recognized by the platform to ensure timeliness and order volume.

(4) From the perspective of buyers. Sellers should make comprehensive considerations for the products purchased by buyers, including freight, safety, delivery speed, whether there are tariffs, etc. Products do not need exquisite packaging, the focus is on delivering them to buyers safely and quickly.

(5) Try to choose low-cost shipping services for buyers while ensuring product safety and speed. Some buyers may be suitable for multiple shipping methods. Sellers can write down the methods and discounts commonly used by the store to save buyers some shipping costs and earn more repeat customers for the store.

Note: Even if cross-border e-commerce sellers have more experience, they cannot estimate the situations of all buyers, so it is more appropriate to give the choice to the buyers. Sellers only need to indicate the supported shipping methods in the product description, and then determine a default shipping method. When buyers have other needs, they will contact the seller.
