AliExpress is a cross-border new retail platform for the global market under Alibaba Group. It was established in 2010. After years of development, it has become one of the world’s largest cross-border B2C export platforms, with users covering 230 countries including Russia, the United States, and Spain. The 22 industries on the platform cover daily consumption categories, and the products are very popular among overseas consumers. The overseas installation volume of AliExpress App exceeds 600 million, and it is shortlisted in the top 10 global application list.
In order to maintain and create a good business order for the AliExpress platform and better protect the legitimate interests of sellers and buyers, AliExpress Global has formulated the AliExpress platform rules, which are committed to promoting a new business civilization of openness, transparency, sharing, and responsibility.
1. Registration rules
The member ID (account) of AliExpress is automatically assigned by the system after registration and cannot be modified. Apply for authentication and determine the subject of the rights and responsibilities of the AliExpress account. Only when there are explicit legal provisions, judicial rulings or with the consent of AliExpress, the AliExpress account shall not be transferred, rented or lent in any way. All responsibilities arising from this shall be borne by the seller, and AliExpress has the right to close the AliExpress account that violates the regulations. AliExpress has the right to terminate and recover the account that fails to pass the identity authentication or has not logged into AliExpress or “Trade Manager” for 180 consecutive days (within one year). If the seller’s account on AliExpress is closed due to serious violations, he shall not re-register an account.
2. Product Release Rules
For stores that choose the standard sales plan, the upper limit of the number of online products in the store is 3,000; for stores that choose the basic sales plan, the upper limit of the number of online products in the store is 300; the upper limit of the number of online products in each category under the special category is 5.
The release of store products first needs to have a title that is attractive enough to buyers. The title is generally composed of core words + attribute words + traffic words, also known as the “three-paragraph method” of the title. Sellers need to understand the three types of words in the title and apply them flexibly to the production of different types of products.
Product pricing will also affect the click-through rate and whether the buyer will ultimately decide to buy. When pricing products, sellers need to consider the purchase price, shipping costs, discount rates, profit margins, profit margins, and profit margins of promotional activities.
It is the basic obligation of sellers to truthfully describe the products and assume responsibility for guaranteeing the quality of the products sold. Truthfully describing the products means that sellers should give a true and complete description of the basic attributes, quality, defects and other information that must be explained in all channels provided by AliExpress, such as product description pages and store pages.
