Many sellers have encountered the problem that the newly established self-delivery listing cannot be successfully converted into FBA listing. This is usually because the Amazon Standard Identification Number (ASIN) is the first time to enter the warehouse and needs to be audited by Amazon for dangerous goods before it can be converted to FBA listing. Amazon requires the provision of corresponding Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) reports for audit of chemical products (including cosmetics), products containing lithium batteries, and products containing magnetism, which are potentially dangerous during transportation.
Since the Amazon system is a robot, it can only rely on the title and description of the seller’s listing to capture keywords to determine whether the product is a dangerous product. Therefore, sometimes the seller’s products may need to be audited for dangerous goods even if they do not belong to the above dangerous goods.
If sellers want to avoid Amazon’s dangerous goods audit when transferring to FBA, it is best to abbreviate the title description of the product listing when uploading the information to FBA for the first time, avoiding the use of keywords such as “lighting” and “LED”. When the product is successfully transferred to FBA and put into storage and put on the shelf, the title of the product listing can be supplemented and improved.
If the seller is subject to Amazon’s hazardous materials audit, the seller needs to provide the following information to Amazon.
· Product ingredient information sheet (only applicable to products without MSDS/SDS reports).
· Manufacturer’s Material Safety Data Sheet/Safety Data Sheet (MSDS/SDS report).
Sellers can contact the product manufacturer to obtain the MSDS report, or go to the seller’s backend, search and enter the “Request to Upload MSDS Documents” page, click “Upload documents for Hazmat review” on the page to enter the MSDS file upload page, and click on the corresponding site’s MSDS exemption form under Download on the right side of the page to download it.
After the seller obtains the MSDS report or fills out the MSDS exemption form, he needs to submit the document through the Upload documents for Hazmat review page. The Amazon hazardous materials review time is generally 2 to 4 days. If it exceeds the time, you can contact the seller to consult customer service.
