China Post Air Parcel is also called China Post International Parcel or China Post Parcel. It is suitable for mailing heavier (over 2kg) and larger parcels and can be sent to more than 200 countries around the world. This channel uses air transportation throughout the entire journey and can reach all parts of the world, as long as there is a post office. Therefore, for goods that are not time-sensitive but slightly heavier, this method can be used for shipment.
1. Rates
China Post Air Parcel directly uses the billing method on the official website of China Post, which is based on the price of the first 1kg + the price of the additional 1kg + the number of additional weights. The parcel weight requirement cannot exceed 30kg (for some countries, it cannot exceed 20kg).
China Post Air Parcel requires a customs clearance fee of RMB 8 per piece.
2. Time Analysis
(1) Neighboring Asian countries: 4 to 10 days.
(2) Major European and American countries: 7 to 20 days.
(3) Other regions and countries: 7~30 days.
3. Mail tracking and inquiry
(1) Parcel information can be found on the China Post website, and there is full tracking.
(2) If the parcel is not delivered within 1 month after it is sent, you can ask the post office for inquiry. The post office normally takes 2~6 months to reply.
(3) If the parcel is lost, the seller can apply for compensation from China Post. China Post will pay compensation based on the declared value, but the maximum compensation shall not exceed RMB 300.
4. Volume and weight restrictions
(1) Weight limit: 0.130kg (not more than 20kg for some countries, and no more than 1 piece per express shipment).
(2) Volume restrictions: ① Single side ≤1.5m, length + maximum horizontal circumference other than length ≤3m; ② Single side ≤1.05m, length + maximum horizontal circumference other than length ≤2m.
(3) The minimum size limit of China Post’s large parcel is: the minimum side length is not less than 0.24m, and the width is not less than 0.16m.
5. Advantages and Disadvantages Analysis
China Post’s air parcel has most of the advantages of China Post, mainly including the following four aspects.
(1) Low cost. The price is slightly lower than EMS, and like EMS, it does not calculate volume and weight, and there is no remote surcharge. Compared with other modes of transportation (such as EMS, DHL, UPS, FedEx, TNT, etc.), China Post’s air parcel has a better price advantage. Using this delivery method can minimize costs and improve price competitiveness.
(2) It is relatively convenient to send and can reach all parts of the world, as long as there is a post office.
(3) Convenient, fast, single waybill, and printed uniformly by the company, reducing the trouble of customers.
(4) Provide parcel tracking and inquiry services. Information can be queried on the China Post website on the day the parcel leaves, and there is full tracking.
Correspondingly, China Post Air Parcel also has the following three disadvantages.
(1) Some countries have a weight limit of 10kg, and the heaviest package that can be delivered is only 30kg.
(2) Slow delivery.
(3) Even slower query speed, query time for undelivered packages is 2 to 6 months.
