How to efficiently set business policies on eBay
For sellers on eBay, it is crucial to clearly show buyers how to pay, return, and have shipping logistics policies. In order to improve work efficiency, reduce duplication of work, and provide buyers with a more professional and high-quality shopping experience, sellers can use eBay backend tools to uniformly manage and create business policy settings.
The importance of setting business policies
When creating a listing, sellers need to list a series of business policies in detail, including payment methods, return policies, shipping logistics policies and other information. In this way, the buyer can clearly understand the seller’s terms. In order to simplify this process, eBay allows sellers to uniformly create and store relevant business policy settings (Business Policy) in its backend, which not only improves work efficiency, but also makes management more convenient.
How to create a business policy
Create payment policy
- First log in to your eBay store account, enter the “Seller Hub” page, and click the “Listings” tab;
- Find and click the “Business Policies” hyperlink in the list on the left;
- Select “Payment” in the “Create policy” drop-down menu;
- Set the corresponding payment policy as needed and click “Save” to save the settings.
Additionally, sellers can choose whether to make this payment policy the default policy. If you want buyers to pay immediately when using the “Buy It Now” feature, you can check the “Require immediate payment when buyer uses Buy It Now” option. You can also add any additional payment instructions in the “Additional payment instructions (shows in your listing)” text box.
Create a return policy
Return policies can help eliminate buyers’ concerns and improve transaction success rates. The specific steps are as follows:
- Also on the “Business Policies” page, select “Return” from the “Create policy” menu;
- Adjust the relevant information of the return policy according to your own situation on the new page and save it.
Create logistics policy
Logistics policies involve the details of product delivery, such as transportation methods, costs and estimated delivery time, etc., to ensure that buyers can enjoy a smooth shopping experience.
- Return to the “Business Policies” page again and select “Shipping” in the “Create policy” menu;
- After filling in the policy name and description, set the specific shipping services and fees in the US domestic (US shipping) and international (International shipping) sections;
- Don’t forget to click “Save” at the end.
Application of business policies
eBay allows sellers to develop multiple sets of business policy templates based on the needs of different products, which not only facilitates the management of existing lists, but also facilitates quick application to newly created product lists.
Through the above steps, sellers can effectively set their business policies to better manage their stores and provide higher quality services to buyers.
