How to efficiently update prices and inventory on the Lazada platform
Lazada provides two main methods to help sellers update the price and inventory of products: one is through batch updates, and the other is to update manually one by one. This article will introduce these two methods and their operation steps in detail.
1. Update prices and inventory in batches
Export price/inventory update template
First, under Lazada’s “Product Updates” page, you can choose to click “Price” to update the price, or click “Stock” to update the inventory. This will direct you to the “Template History” page, where you can click the “Download” button to download the corresponding CSV format document for batch modification.
Open and modify documents
In the downloaded CSV file, keep the contents of the “Name” and “SellerSku” columns unchanged because they are key information for identifying the product. Next, you can adjust the contents of the “Price” and “SalePrice” columns as needed. Note that these values can only have two decimal points. At the same time, “SaleStartDate” and “SaleEndDate” should be entered in YYYY-MM-DD format. If a product is no longer in stock, it is recommended to set its status to “Inactive” instead of simply setting the inventory quantity to 0 to avoid system misunderstandings.
Save, upload and check
After you have made all necessary modifications, make sure you save the file correctly. Go back to Lazada’s “Import Mode” page, select the “Update Stock” or “Update Price” option, and upload your CSV file.
2. Update product information one by one
The importance of cloning notification emails
When the product is successfully cloned, the seller will receive an email notification. Importantly, only after this email arrives should you go to the Seller Center > Manage Products page to check and adjust pricing and inventory settings. This is done to avoid any previous changes being overwritten by subsequent cloning processes.
Update on different sites
Since Lazada has multiple operating sites around the world, sellers need to operate each site separately. This means that you need to log in to the backend of each site to export the corresponding batch update files, and accurately fill in the latest inventory information for each SKU as required. It is important to note that the product name must not be changed during this process.
In addition, in order to maintain a good user experience and avoid possible technical issues, Lazada recommends that sellers update inventory information at least every 60 days. Failure to adhere to this rule may result in certain SKUs showing as zero inventory on the front-end or even being unable to receive new clone notification emails.
Through the above steps, sellers can not only effectively manage their product prices and inventory on Lazada, but also ensure that customers can always see the latest product information, thereby improving sales performance.
