At present, domestic Shopify independent website sellers basically do not use the blog function in Shopify independent website. One reason is that the Shopify independent station itself is more suitable for selling goods rather than blogging. The other reason is that I am not good at and not used to blogging.

In fact, for the European and American markets, blogging has always been a good way to attract traffic, and foreigners have always had the habit of reading blogs. In my opinion, the most directly relevant blog content on a Shopify standalone site is product review. Of course, a review is not written casually. It requires keyword research in advance, and the word count should be at least 1,000 words, with pictures and texts, and preferably a video. In addition, you also need to research hot topics or pain points closely related to independent website products, and write blogs based on the topics or pain points. Whether it is a product review or a topic blog, the product purchase link must be embedded in it so that customers can purchase directly after reading the blog.

How to use the blog post function? First log in to the Shopify backend and click the “Online Store” “Blog Post” button.

Then, click the “Create Blog Post” button. At this time, the following content will be involved.

(1) Title and content. In the newly opened page, enter the title and content (body) of your blog post. I suggest you write your blog post in Word first and then copy it into a text box. Writing titles and content is also the same as uploading products. You need to research keywords.

(2) Excerpt and search engine optimization. The excerpt is actually the outline or central idea of the blog post. Click the “Add Excerpt” button to enter it. Search engine optimization is the same as uploading products before, and there is a word limit on the title and description.

(3) Visibility. Visibility refers to whether it is open to visitors of the independent site. I recommend setting the visibility of the blog post to hidden before editing the blog post and previewing it for confirmation.

(4) With pictures. You need to prepare pictures in advance, and then click the “Add Picture” button to upload pictures. It is also recommended to use high-quality and jpg format pictures. Another point that must be noted is that the content of the image must be strongly related to the blog article.

(5) Organization. The “Author” defaults to the registrant of the Shopify independent station, and can be replaced by any name or brand name. You can create a new category named by yourself in the “Blog” text box, and the content of the “Tag” text box can also be written arbitrarily.

Finally, remember to click the “Save” button at the top right or below to save the above settings.
