Using CSV files to add new products in batches refers to the process of generating CSV files and uploading them to the Wish backend after filling in new product information in batches according to the specified Excel template. It is located in the backend “Products” → “Add New Products” → “Product CSV File” menu.
Click the “+” on the right of “Getting Started” to expand the instructions for using CSV files.
Click to download “XLSX File” and “CSV File” in “CSV File Template”.
Click to download “XLSX File” and “CSV File” in “CSV File Sample”.
“Google Spreadsheets” are CSV files and XLSX files that are previewed online. Since XLSX files can save table formats such as text, row height, column width, etc., while CSV files cannot save table formats, for ease of use, the general processing flow is: download and open the “XLSX File” in the “CSV File Template”, delete the sample data, fill in the product information according to the template format requirements, generate a CSV file, and then use the generated CSV file to upload products.
Click the “+” on the right side of “Size Chart” to see the men’s clothing size chart and women’s clothing size chart, which are for reference only.
Click the “+” on the right side of “CSV File Specifications” to see the attribute description of the template file.
SKU, product sales price, title, inventory, shipping, main image, label, description are required options and must be filled in, otherwise there will be an error in uploading; other attributes are optional and can be left blank. Click the “?” in front of the attribute for relevant instructions or prompts.
For the three items of Getting Started Guide, Size Chart, and CSV File Specifications, if merchants are already proficient in using them, they can skip them and go directly to the step of “Upload CSV File”.
1. Download the “XLSX” file
2. Fill in product information in batches
Take the product as an example, delete the sample data in the downloaded XLSX sample file, and fill in the product information.
Notes:
?The easiest way to fill in the Parent Unique ID is to select the first Unique ID (i.e. SKU) of the product as
Parent Unique ID.
?Size and color are not mandatory options. Some products do not need this and can be left blank, but Wish will prompt you to fill them in. Merchants can ignore the prompt and it will not affect the upload result.
?Product images need to be uploaded in batches to QQ Space, Baidu Netdisk, etc., and the image URLs should be copied one by one to the corresponding “Extra Image URL” option.
3. Generate CSV file
Take WPS spreadsheet as an example. Click “File” → “Save As” menu. Select “CSV (comma separated)” in the “File Type” of the pop-up dialog box. WPS will ask the user to choose whether to remove incompatible formats. Select “Yes” here, and the steps to export the CSV file are completed.
4. Upload CSV file
After generating the CSV file, upload it.
At this point, the operation of adding new products in batches using CSV files is complete. In the actual uploading process, the more common errors are as follows.
(1) SKU has been added or added repeatedly.
(2) Unsupported or wrong color.
(3) Required attribute options are omitted.
(4) Warning prompt for missing size (this prompt can be ignored for products without size or color information).
