Globally, with the rise of trade protectionism and the continuous rise of anti-globalization in various countries, my country has taken the opposite path in recent years, continuously reducing import tariffs on consumer goods and continuously releasing policy dividends in cross-border imports. This not only shows that my country wants to expand import trade to promote the return of overseas consumption, attach importance to the demand for consumption upgrading, and let imports promote supply-side reform, but also shows my country’s attitude of adhering to globalization and reform and opening up.

On the one hand, lowering tax rates will help expand China’s imports from other countries, especially better help other developing countries to share the huge domestic consumer market and the rapidly growing market dividends; on the other hand, it will also provide Chinese consumers with more consumption choices.

Many cities in China have begun to use cross-border e-commerce as an entry point to simplify and streamline processes in warehousing and logistics, and have begun to establish supporting policies such as customs clearance integration and sharing of basic information, so as to promote the liberalization and convenience of international trade, encourage e-commerce companies to quickly set up overseas warehouses and layout global marketing networks, so as to create well-known cross-border e-commerce brands and continuously diversify the market.

The rapid development of my country’s cross-border e-commerce, especially the continuous expansion and construction of cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zones, has accumulated more and more experience in cross-border e-commerce retail import supervision and service innovation, which has provided my country with the confidence and solid experience foundation to explore further in adjusting the import tax rate of consumer goods.

Such measures have promoted supply-side reform, provided opportunities for related industries to upgrade and change, and provided better policy conditions and market foundations. From this aspect, my country has continuously released policy dividends in terms of imports, providing new stimulus for the development of the cross-border import field.
