1. What are discount coupons?
Discount coupons are what we usually call coupons. The Shopee platform allows sellers to create discount coupons and shrimp coin rebate coupons by themselves. Through the discount coupon function, sellers can easily create exclusive coupons for their own stores and determine the discount amount, discount time limit and coupon quantity by themselves. In addition, sellers can also create exclusive coupons for a certain product in the store.
2. Why set up discount coupons?
Coupons can help us improve the traffic conversion rate of the store because it satisfies the customer’s consumer psychology of “loving to take advantage”. Reasonable setting of coupons can also guide buyers to buy multiple items.
3. Steps to set up discount coupons
Enter “My Discount Coupons” path: Seller Center > My Marketing Activities > My Attention Gift, set up discount coupons.
Depending on the scope of application, discount coupons can be divided into: ① Store discount coupons, applicable to all products in the store, can be displayed on many pages, such as the store homepage, product page, shopping cart page, Shopee live page and Shopee dynamic page. Sellers can also choose not to display coupons in the store. If the seller chooses not to display the coupon, the coupon will not be displayed on any page, but the seller can add the coupon code to the product details page, or share the coupon code with the user through “Chat”. ② Product discount coupons, applicable to specific products in the store. Product discount coupons will not be displayed on any page, but the seller can add the coupon code to the product details page, or share the coupon code with the customer through “Chat”.
Take the setting of store discount coupons as an example.
a. Coupon name: It will not be displayed to users. Sellers can set it by themselves to facilitate their own identification, such as 299-10.
b. Discount code: The first four digits will be generated by the system based on the seller’s account, and the seller can decide the next 1 to 5 digits. Please enter characters from A to Z, 0 to 9, and enter up to 5 characters. The discount code is unique and can be shared with users.
c. Coupon collection period: The start and end date of the coupon (up to 3 months).
d. Reward type: Sellers can set discounts or Shrimp Coins. Shrimp Coins can be set as discounts (e.g., if 20% Shrimp Coins are set as rewards, 20% of the total order amount can be returned to the buyer in the form of Shrimp Coins, i.e., if the total order amount is 600 yuan, the buyer will receive Shrimp Coins worth 120 yuan).
e. Discount type Discount limit: Sellers can set a fixed discount amount or a percentage discount (e.g., 20% discount). If the seller chooses a percentage discount, the seller can limit the maximum discount amount of this coupon (e.g., 10% discount can be up to 100 yuan).

If the coupon amount/discount set by the seller is too favorable, the system will display a reminder message to reduce the seller’s setting errors. This reminder will not affect the seller’s actual setting.
f. Minimum consumption amount: The minimum consumption amount for the buyer to use the coupon. For example, if it is 299-10, the buyer’s consumption amount must be more than 299 yuan to use this coupon.
g. Number of coupons: The total number of coupons that the user can receive. h. Coupon display settings.
· Display on basic pages: Select this option, users can view the seller’s coupons on the store homepage, product details page and shopping cart page.
· Specific channels: Sellers can choose to display coupons to users in Shopee live broadcast or Shopee dynamics. · Coupon code sharing: The seller’s coupons will not be displayed on any page, but the seller can share the coupon code with users.
· Finally, click the “Save” button to complete the setting of the store discount coupon.
4. Discount coupon practical skills
Discount coupons play a very important role in our operational practice. Discount coupons can not only increase the store’s traffic conversion rate, but also encourage buyers to buy multiple items, and even help us solve after-sales customer service problems.
① Store coupon usage threshold: The setting of coupons should have a gradient, so that customers feel that the more they buy, the more cost-effective. For example, based on the average price of store products, the first level is to encourage users to buy 2 items, so the optimal usage threshold is set between the price of buying 1 item and the price of buying 2 items. The second level is to encourage users to buy 3 items, so the threshold for using the coupon is between buying 2 items and buying 3 items. The third level can be set to encourage users to buy 5 items, so the threshold for using the coupon is set between buying 4 items and 5 items. And so on.
② Store coupon discount amount: determined according to the gross profit margin of your own store, to ensure that the profit can support the normal operation of the store.
③ It is best to set it at about a week to create a sense of tension for users. Encourage users to place orders.
④ Give coupons to buyers who have completed orders to guide them to give good reviews and repurchase.
