With the development of economic globalization, global trade is becoming more frequent, and economic exchanges between countries are gradually increasing. Cross-border e-commerce has become the mainstream of trade and is at the forefront of the times. Consumers can easily “shop around the world” through the Internet and enjoy high-quality products from all over the world. Since the reform and opening up, with the implementation of my country’s opening-up policy and the trend of economic and trade globalization, relevant departments have successively issued substantial favorable policies. Under the protection of the “E-commerce Law”, my country’s cross-border e-commerce industry has been able to develop rapidly and usher in a bonus period.

Under the influence of major policies, in order to promote development, the relevant departments of the Chinese government have become more and more clear about their support for cross-border e-commerce, which is mainly manifested in the continuous improvement of the relevant legal system of cross-border e-commerce, the gradual improvement of the regulatory system, the continuous improvement of customs clearance efficiency, and the continuous improvement of trade facilitation. On March 5, 2019, the opening meeting of the second session of the 13th National People’s Congress was held in the Great Hall of the People, and Premier Li Keqiang delivered a government work report. He pointed out that the support policies for new formats such as cross-border e-commerce will be reformed and improved to promote the innovative development of service trade and guide the transformation and upgrading of processing trade.

Future development trends of cross-border e-commerce: First, the sales market is more diversified, gradually penetrating into multiple categories and emerging markets; second, the transaction structure has undergone fundamental changes; third, the transaction channels have been improved, and the mobile terminal has become an important driving force for the development of cross-border e-commerce; fourth, the industrial ecology is improved, and all links are developing in a coordinated manner.

The country has further improved its opening-up policy, put forward the “Belt and Road” initiative, and encouraged export trade, which is a good opportunity for cross-border e-commerce. In addition to the country’s policy support, the market in Southeast Asian countries itself is in short supply of products, which has accelerated the development of cross-border e-commerce. With the support of policies, the bonus period of cross-border e-commerce will still exist in the next few years, and it will surely develop rapidly as a dark horse.
