1. Definition of the direct mail model

The direct mail model is an upgraded version of the overseas direct mail model and is a common logistics model under the B2C model. The direct mail model means that after consumers purchase overseas goods, suppliers will centrally ship the goods to overseas warehouses. After the goods are packaged, they will be shipped by international transit and delivered to consumers after customs clearance.

2. Process of the direct mail model

(1) Consumers place orders online and provide the identity information and delivery address of the consignee.

(2) Overseas merchants on the cross-border e-commerce platform will centrally store the goods they sell in overseas warehouses. After receiving the user’s order, they will pick the goods, package them, put the goods in the packing list and affix the express delivery label.

(3) Arrive at the domestic airport via international air transport.

(4) After landing, the package enters the customs supervision warehouse at the airport and waits for customs inspection.

(5) Customs inspects the package to prevent tax evasion and prohibited goods from entering the country.

(6) The cross-border e-commerce platform submits the declaration materials to the customs through the formal customs declaration procedures, and the customs releases the goods after inspection.

(7) After customs release, the goods will be delivered to consumers via commercial express or EMS.
