In the process of guiding communication, it is particularly important to point out that we should always pay attention to logical issues. In the process of replying, the salesperson’s language expression should be as logical as possible, which is reflected in the hierarchy of the reply and the expression of the relationship between sentences, such as transition relationship, continuation relationship, and progressive relationship. Salespeople can use different expressions to express different logical relationships.
(1) The logical hierarchy of paragraphs
a. Sequence numbers 1, 2, 3, 4…
b. Sequence number groups ①, ②, ③, ④…
c. Ordinal numbers indicating order Firstly, Secondly, Finally, etc.
(2) The hierarchy of content
a. About, Referring to, With reference to, Regarding
b. One side, The other side.
(3) The progressive and transitional relationship between sentences
a. Progressive relationship: Furthermore, Moreover.
b. Transitional relationship: However, But.
Language expression style
There have always been two views on language expression style. Some people think it should be rigorous, while others think it can be more casual. Because foreign customers, especially those in North America or Africa, are generally very casual, there is no need to be too strict and rigid when responding. In fact, these two views are not contradictory. Foreign customers are sometimes very casual, but casual does not mean casual. If you want customers to buy your company’s products, as a salesperson, you must take a professional and responsible attitude and answer every question of the customer seriously and in an organized manner. Logic and organization can well reflect the quality and cultivation of a salesperson and can also enhance the customer’s positive impression of the company where the salesperson works. Therefore, it is not wrong to insist on a rigorous attitude in the response. As for the expression style, it can be adjusted according to the customer’s expression habits and methods.
