Thai people’s clothing is relatively simple, and in rural areas, ethnic clothing is the main type. The traditional ethnic clothing of Thai men is called “Phanong” sarong and “Tanweiman” sarong. Panong is a kind of clothing that wraps the waist and legs with cloth. The Tanweiman is a piece of cloth about 3 meters long that is wrapped around the legs, and then the two ends of the cloth are rolled together, passed between the legs, and stuffed into the waist and back. After wearing it, it looks very much like our country’s bloomers. Because the hem of the sarong is wider, it is comfortable and cool to wear, so it is one of the traditional clothing that has been circulated among Thai civilians for a long time. The female tube skirt is the lower garment of Thai women. The tube skirt is the same as the sarong. The wide edges of the cloth at both ends are sewn into a cylindrical shape. When wearing it, first put the body into the cloth, then use the right hand to pull the cloth to the right, press the cloth on the right side of the waist with the left hand, pull the cloth back with the right hand, fold the edge, overlap at the left waist, and stuff it into the left waist with your hand. When wearing it, you can also use the left hand to complete the same action in the opposite direction.
With the development of society and external influences, the clothing of contemporary Thai people has also changed greatly. Rural youths wear trousers and shirts, and can wear or not wear a tie. Women like to wear suit skirts, which are probably influenced by the traditional women’s skirts. Suit skirts are generally cut very well and tightly around the hips. The length of the skirt varies with age, but the style of the top is ever-changing.
Affected by the increasing penetration of smartphones and fierce competition among e-commerce platforms, the importance of Thailand’s mobile e-commerce market will gradually increase, currently accounting for 49% of the national e-commerce market. This is also in line with the current situation of the platform. In some categories, the current platform’s mobile traffic has reached half. Compared with China, where the online retail market accounts for 15.9% of the total retail market, and the United States, which accounts for 7%, Thailand still has a lot of room for growth.
With the help of Thailand’s 4G network service, Thailand’s e-commerce market will usher in rapid development. Pawoot Pongvitayapanu, chairman of the Thai E-Commerce Association, said that Thailand’s e-commerce market is the fastest growing market in Southeast Asia. Currently, there are more than 500,000 e-commerce users in Thailand. He said: “Thai people will be more active in online shopping activities. 4G will be a factor in the growth of the e-commerce market and the transfer of offline businesses to online. E-commerce activities on mobile devices will also become more frequent.”
