The Australia Express is an Australia-bound express product that covers the entire territory of Australia. Generally, the express provides end-to-end services such as door-to-door collection in multiple cities in China, pre-sorting at the destination, export customs declaration, international transportation, import customs clearance, terminal distribution, and logistics track tracking.

Compared with other express products, the Australian Express is similar to other products in terms of operation procedures. The main difference is that the product declaration process is different. In 2018, Chinese and Australian companies signed 11 agreements spanning five years with a total value of nearly A$15 billion (approximately RMB 73.5 billion), covering a range of areas including tourism, resources, infrastructure, e-commerce and logistics services.

From January 1, 2019, all Chinese goods entering Australia will be exempt from tariffs. However, from July 1, 2018, all overseas companies or e-commerce platforms that sell goods to Australian consumers for a total of AUD 75,000 (approximately RMB 368,000) within 12 months must register in the Australian Taxation Office’s GST (Goods and Services Tax) system and pay 10% of the total price of goods every quarter. Before July 1, 2018, goods sold to Australia with a value of less than or equal to AUD 1,000 (approximately RMB 4,900) were tax-free. Only goods with a value of more than AUD 1,000, as well as cigarettes and alcoholic beverages, were taxed. Therefore, after the tax reform, regardless of the value of the goods, import GST must be collected.

Import GST = [value of goods + shipping cost (US$20/cubic meter) + insurance + tariff] X 10%.
