1 Find and solve the user’s pain points
Finding and solving the user’s pain points is a good way to increase sales.
For example, some people hate grinding their teeth because it not only affects their sleep but also causes dental diseases. Jing is one of them. After his teeth became ill, not only did his body suffer, but the cost of dental treatment also made him heartbroken. Therefore, Jing invented the braces guard shown in Figure 1-22. Customized braces guards can prevent people from grinding their teeth while sleeping, which not only solves the bad habit of grinding teeth at night for others, but also prevents dental diseases.
2 Find the user’s hobbies
Compared with solving the user’s pain points, a higher-level method is to cater to the user’s hobbies. When a user is interested in certain products, he will try his best to own them. In addition, this can also deepen the interaction between users and buyers, thereby cultivating users’ brand loyalty.
For example, BlackMilk was founded in 2009. After the blog Too Many Tights created by the founder ignited the community, he found that women’s tights were very popular, so he created the BlackMilk Clothing brand. At present, BlackMilk is a company with assets of several million US dollars, more than 150 employees, and products all over the world.
3 Find opportunities and breakthroughs
Although the Internet has spawned many jobs, with people’s efforts and innovation, many industries have changed from blue ocean markets to red ocean markets and are beginning to become saturated. If sellers want to gain a higher market share and profit, they need to find a breakthrough first.
This breakthrough may exist in a product with features to be improved, a market that is not recognized by competitors, or in their own marketing capabilities. If such a breakthrough can be found, then business opportunities will emerge.
There are many ways to find a breakthrough: sellers can search for products based on their own interests and hobbies; they can use their previous work experience to transform their experience and skills into products, and this method is not easy to be copied by other sellers; they can use the new popular product trends on the Internet to plan brand promotion in advance, leaving a deep impression on buyers.
