To display the product perfectly, sellers need to provide exquisite product pictures. However, taking a good product picture also requires a lot of skills. Given that many small and medium-sized sellers lack experience in this area, the following are some product picture shooting tips.

1. Shooting space layout

The shooting space mainly includes two aspects: the picture background and the light.

(1) White background

Generally, professional product pictures are taken against a white background, because the white background will reflect light onto the product, making the light of the product more saturated. Sellers can use any white material as a background. It is generally recommended to use white wrapping paper because its surface is more likely to reflect light.

If the seller’s product is relatively small, a simple shooting table can be used; if the product is large, a set frame can be prepared, or the set can be fixed to the wall with hooks, which is also convenient for long-term shooting.

If the product is a pure white wedding dress, if the shadow cannot be avoided by lighting, you can first use a pure blue background for shooting, and then use software to replace the background later.

(2) Natural light

You can also take high-quality pictures of products by directly using natural light. Taking pictures with artificial lighting systems requires a lot of skills and is not easy to operate without experience.

The reasonable use of natural light can also make the products present the most natural lighting effect. Sellers are advised to choose a place near the window indoors as the shooting point, and not to choose it outdoors to avoid overexposure or strong shadows in the photos.

When placing the products, the window cannot be directly in front of or behind the camera. The light source should be directed to the product from the left or right side. The best environment is that the left and right windows are open to each other, and the light source illuminates the product from both sides at the same time.

If the place chosen by the seller has only one window, the light source can only enter from one direction, and the light distribution will be uneven. In this case, you can place auxiliary light on the other side of the product to balance the light, so that the light can be reflected; or use a reflector to reflect the light.

2. Shooting equipment

You should use a camera suitable for shooting still life, preferably with a macro function. In order to avoid camera shake and ensure the clarity of the picture, it is best to use a tripod to stabilize the camera. Sellers can use timed automatic shooting to reduce camera shake caused by pressing the shutter or touching the screen, so that the camera is always in a stable state, so as to take ultra-clear and non-shaking pictures.

3. Optimize product pictures

Optimizing pictures is also a very important step. Sellers can use tools such as Photoshop to optimize pictures. However, it should be noted that pictures cannot be over-edited. Buyers want to see the most realistic product pictures. If the editing is excessive and the product is over-beautified in the picture, it is easy to cause disputes that the goods do not match the description.
