For Amazon sellers, it is very important to adopt the appropriate delivery mode. Currently, Amazon sellers can choose the self-delivery mode in addition to FBA delivery. I believe many people are already familiar with FBA delivery and are familiar with the backend settings, but they have some knowledge of the self-delivery mode. Therefore, this article will focus on how to set the freight calculation method in the Amazon backend under the self-delivery mode.

Before self-delivery, you need to set the freight calculation method. Amazon provides three standard freight calculation modes, as follows.

(1) “By order amount” to calculate freight. The “By order amount” method requires sellers to create order price segments, and each price segment corresponds to different freight settings.

(2) “By product/weight” to calculate freight. This mode is based on the calculation method of the product or weight, that is, charging per product, or charging by weight (pounds).

(3) Delivery settings for books, music, and video products. If the seller sells books, music, videos, and DVDs, the shipping fee will be set by Amazon.

So how do sellers set up shipping costs in the backend? The following is an example of a demonstration using the North American site.

(1) Log in to the backend and click “Setting” → “Shipping Setting”.

(2) Select the shipping address. Set the “Shipping Location”. If shipping from China, select “China” in the “Country/Region” column; if you do not want to display the location or are shipping from multiple locations, select “None”.

(3) Select the shipping cost calculation method, which is divided into two types: “Price Banded” and “Per Item/Weight-Based”.
