The reform of Hunan Cross-border E-commerce Pilot Zone has shortened the overseas shopping experience from 3 to 7 days to 1 to 2 days

In today’s online shopping era, more and more consumers choose to conduct global shopping through cross-border e-commerce, especially “overseas shopping” has become a daily choice for many people. In order to meet consumers’ needs for a fast and reliable shopping experience, Changsha Huanghua Airport officially opened its first cross-border e-commerce export all-cargo charter flight on February 26 this year. This move marks an important step in the construction of international logistics channels for the China (Changsha) Cross-border E-Commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone. It not only increases convenience for consumers, but also provides new assistance for Hunan brands to explore the global market.

Cross-border e-commerce, as a typical application of “Internet +”, is leading a new trend in global trade. In December 2017, the Hunan Provincial Government and the Ministry of Commerce signed a cooperation agreement, and the Ministry of Commerce promised to actively support Hunan in the development of cross-border e-commerce. Then in 2018, the China (Changsha) Cross-border E-Commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone was successfully approved. Relevant departments attached great importance to this and acted quickly, formulating a number of strategic measures to promote the construction of the pilot zone, covering top-level design and comprehensive service platforms. Remarkable results have been achieved in many aspects such as construction and business model innovation.

The provincial government has issued the “Implementation Plan for the Construction of China (Changsha) Cross-border E-Commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone” and plans to build Changsha into a regional distribution center for cross-border e-commerce in the central and western regions in the next 3 to 5 years. In addition, Changsha launched a comprehensive cross-border e-commerce pilot zone in 2019 and held a launching ceremony at Jinxia Bonded Logistics Center. Changsha City is currently committed to building a global quality traceability system and promoting online shopping bonded import business to further enhance logistics efficiency and improve consumer experience.

According to reports, in the next three to five years, Changsha will open more than 10 cross-border e-commerce all-cargo routes, mainly covering the Americas, Europe, Australia and other regions. Changsha Customs also pointed out that citizens can quickly purchase imported goods through e-commerce platforms. With the help of the bonded online shopping model, the time for cross-border direct purchase can be shortened from the original 3 to 7 days to only 1 to 2 days, and the purchased goods The quality is also more guaranteed. This series of measures not only promotes the development of cross-border e-commerce, but also provides strong support for the transformation and upgrading of Hunan’s foreign trade companies.

In recent years, cross-border e-commerce has become an important tool for the transformation of traditional foreign trade enterprises in Hunan Province. According to statistics, there were 129 cross-border e-commerce pilot enterprises in Changsha in 2018, and their transaction volume increased by more than 60%, setting a record high. This shows the potential and determination of Hunan enterprises in using cross-border e-commerce to explore new markets.
